What are Golden Mountain Doodles

Lazeeza, a Goldendoodle, and Henry, a tri-colored bernedoodle produced the first-ever Golden Mountain Doodle Litter. It was in 2013 when a Golden Mountain Doodle was produced. This dog breed is the combination of a Golden Retriever, a Bernese mountain dog, and a Poodle. These types of dogs can accompany you during hiking or active outdoor play. They are also best when you just want to lounge inside your home. 

Golden Mountain Doodles are perfect for first-time pet owners. These dogs are easy to train, lovable and gentle. These types of dogs are also perfect for families with kids. Unlike other breeds which have been existing decades ago. This dog breed is considered to be new but popular.

Appearance

Golden Mountain Doodles are crossbred dogs. This means that the puppies may appear different from each other although they all came from the same parent. They come in three sizes: The Standard, the Medium, and the Miniature. A standard-size Golden Mountain Doodle can weigh about 70-90lbs. with a height of about 29 inches tall. 

Are there any mini Golden Mountain Doodles? Yes, it is possible to breed mini versions of this breed. This mini version weighs about 15 kg and is about 22 inches high. The miniature ones are the product of mini Bernedoodle and miniature Goldendoodle.

This type of dog is non-shedding but not totally hypoallergenic so just be wary if you have allergies to dogs and its saliva. When it comes to grooming requirements, this type of dog requires attention. They are relatively considered to be of high maintenance. Make time to brush those coats on a daily basis to prevent any matting. Also brushing is important to make sure that those gorgeous coat are kept in high quality. Your pet will need at least some trimming every two months. 

Since this dog is a combination of three breeds, predicting the appearance of its litter could be challenging. Some breeders consider this as a downside. Unlike a combination of two breeds, it is much easier to determine the appearance of its puppies.

Lifespan

Since this breed is just relatively new. There are not many studies about its lifespan. Since this crossbred has genes from Bernese Mountain Dogs which are known to live for about 8 years, a 10-year lifespan for a Golden Mountain Doodle is long enough. Gastric torsion is considered one of the common health issues for Bernese Mountain Dogs. Pet owners should be wary of the symptoms of bloating such as rapid breathing, drooling or frothing, retching, or having a swollen abdomen. In contrast to Bernese Mountain Dogs which are known for having short lifespans, Poodles, on the other hand, are known to have long lifespans which can reach about 14-15 years. 

Another downside of having this breed is that since it’s a combination of three breeds, judging how long its life expectancy is difficult to determine
