Moose is a gentle giant First Generation rare F1 FAWN SABLE STANDARD BERNEDOODLE with intense red! He lives with a guardian home family in Hoffman Estates, IL. We have big plans for him in our Standard & Large Golden Mountain Doodle & F1B Bernedoodle Program. His family is working toward some additional training for therapy for their youngest child.

Sable is relatively common in Poodles and produces a wide range of colors and patterns. A sable Doodle or Poodle can be nearly solid cream or appear agouti. Often, they will be mostly solid cream or apricot with black ears and tail, along with black hairs mixed in on the back. Sable Bernedoodle puppies change significantly as they grow. The only thing one can guarantee is they will not be the same color as an adult as they are as a puppy. A Poodle or Doodle only needs only one copy of the sable gene to express the pattern, along with either a second copy, or a copy of phantom or recessive black; ay/ay, ay/at, or ay/a.

Moose can produce cream, red, phantom, and sable puppies. He’s best paired with Parti Poodles and Doodles that will carry white/blaze that does not carry the KB gene, which will result in dominant black puppies. Half of Moose’s offspring will carry sable ay while 1/2 will carry at - which can produce phantom. Learn more about Poodle Coats here:

• - Neonatal Encephalopathy with Seizures, NEWS (ATF2)

• - Osteochondrodysplasia, Skeletal Dwarfism (SLC13A1, Poodle Variant)

• - Progressive Retinal Atrophy, prcd (PRCD Exon 1)

• - Von Willebrand Disease Type I, Type I vWD (VWF)
