Puppy Socialization Checklist

Keep a printed copy of this note for each of these experiences the puppy in training. We try to complete this entire list after 12 weeks of Doodle School.

Socialization is an important process for puppies. It helps them become well-adjusted, confident dogs and can prevent behavior problems in the future. Here is a general checklist for socializing your puppy:

  1. Expose your puppy to a variety of people, including men, women, and children of all ages.

  2. Take your puppy to different places, such as parks, stores, and other public areas.

  3. Introduce your puppy to other dogs and puppies.

  4. Allow your puppy to explore and interact with new objects, such as toys, boxes, and household items.

  5. Encourage your puppy to play and have fun, but be sure to supervise and intervene if necessary to prevent any rough play or biting.

  6. Reward your puppy for good behavior and positive social interactions.
